2026:

There is no general truck driving ban. However, for special transports with a width over 4 m or a length over 30 m, a driving ban applies from 06:00 to 21:00 on all roads. On motorways, the driving ban for special transports with GVW over 60 t, a width over 3.5 m and a length over 27 m applies from 07:00 to 09:00 and from 16:00 to 21:00.

A general driving ban for special transports applies on weekends from Saturday 12:00 to Sunday 24:00, as well as from 16:00 on the day before a public holiday until 24:00 on the public holiday.

In Antwerp, trucks over 3.5 t GVW must meet at least the Euro VI emissions standard to enter the city area. Vehicles with a lower emissions class may only enter the city after booking a paid day pass. In addition, all trucks with foreign license plates (except vehicles registered in the Netherlands) may pass through the low-emission zone only after prior registration (www.slimnaarantwerpen.be/de/lez). Registration is required once and is free of charge.

The same conditions also apply to the city center of Ghent (area within the ring road) and Brussels Information and registration at: www.stad.gent/de/umweltzone-gent or www.lez.brussels/mytax/de.

Public holidays: January 1, April 5/April 6 (Easter Sunday/Easter Monday), May 1, May 14 (Ascension Day), May 24/25 (Pentecost Sunday/Pentecost Monday), July 21, August 15 (Assumption of Mary), November 1 (All Saints’ Day), November 11 and December 25.
